  • Michael Gamble

Michael has won awards throughout the Southeast for his attention to the crowd and stylistic diversity. He will play rare recordings of hot dance bands of the 20's and 30's, and he will play your favorite vocal standard. He will play modern, groovy jazz when appropriate, classic Savoy Ballroom jumpers, and chunky, bouncy early jazz. He loves the Lindy Hop scene and all it's little baby scenes, and enjoys the challenge of figuring out what each crowd wants to hear. "Every dance floor is unique. It is my job to create as much dance floor pleasure as possible."

Michael Gamble has been DJ'ing since 1996. Throughout the years he has spun party music, house, trance, techno, and, since 2002, Swing & Blues. He has been a favorite of the Lindy Hop community for years for his diverse but always tasteful style. A proactive collector of all forms of music, Michael has been preparing to DJ at a Tango crossover event literally for years, and has some special treats in store for this very special occasion.

Michael was a Featured DJ on Yehoodi Radio, and has spun at Herrang Dance Camp, Knoxville Lindy Exchange, Atlanta Varsity Showdown, The Frim Fram Jam (NYC), Swingout New Hampshire, Atlanta Lindy Exchange, South Florida Lindy Exchange, and virtually every swing dance event in Asheville, NC over the last four years, including the Asheville Lindy Exchange and all five years of Lindy Focus. In 2005 he won the Invitational DJ Competition at the Charles Towne Liberty Jam in Charleston, South Carolina, and won the invitational DJ battle at the grand opening of Vintage Rhythm studios in Nashville, TN. Most recently, he has begun to teach Lindy Hop DJ training classes in Charlotte, Asheville, & Greensboro.

  • Dan Parshall

Dan got hooked on swing dancing in 1998, and fell madly in love with Tango not long ago.  Known for his passionate and exuberant approach to dancing, he tries to bring an analytical perspective to his teaching, while always emphasizing interpretation of the music.  He's become known as a maven on regarding the history of Jazz, and teaches classes throughout the SouthEast on music and dancing to the music.

When he's DJing, you're likely to hear great music ranging from Osvaldo Pugilese to Astor Piazolla to Sidney Bechet to BB King.  He's DJed at events such as Lindy Focus (3, 4, 5, 6), Private Collection, BluesSHOUT, and was the Yehoodi Guest DJ in July 2007.  An avid collector of jazz music for many years, he is now subsisting solely on a diet of peanut butter crackers and ramen noodles in order to afford collecting tango music as well

  • Heather Adams

Heather began listening to blues music in the womb, thanks to a mother with excellent taste. Unfortunately for her mother, that's also when she began dancing to it. She is an unpublicized member of the Justice League of America who honed her craft in a Tibetan monastery before joining the [redacted] in their fight against [redacted]. When she's not studying, she knits. While listening to music, of course.

You may have seen her spin at the inaugural Austin Blues Party, Enter the Blues, MezzJelly Blues Weekend, Buenos Aires Blues, or at other events throughout the Southeast or Midwest. She's also playing at the upcoming Blues Collective workshop in NYC. If you're lucky, you can catch one of her sets on www.bigblueswing.com. And she definitely wants to dance with you, so just ask.
