Solo follows on waitlist as of July 26

Buenos Aires Blues strives to attain a gender-balanced event, a goal we've achieved in years past.  Due to the overwhelming response from the ladies, and the tendency of guys to put things off until the last minute, we must temporarily place unaccompanied follows on a waitlist.  Follows may still sign up if they do so with matched lead (this is strictly to achieve balance - partners will still rotate during classes).  Both the lead and the follow must identify their match in the "Comments" section of the registration form.  If we get enough leads, we'll open registration up to solo follows again, so please encourage any guys you know to sign up now!

Hot (News) Flashes, July 22!

You wanted a schedule, and you've got it!  You wanted to know, "What's up with the music?"  I've told you.  You wanted a night packed full of live music, where you'd be passed back and forth between the capable hands of a blues band and a tango band... you've got that, too.  That's right!  Saturday night, from 9-midnight, we'll be featuring two live bands.  Directly from one set to the other, it's like a battle of the bands, only everyone wins.  For more information, check out the Music page, or to see our newly posted schedule, check out the Schedule page.

News Flash, July 9!

Joining us from the bitterly less-hot north is Kristina McFadden!  While we don't have her picture or bio up yet, we're sure you'll be delighted to meet her when we do.  And, in the meantime, we're happy to announce that she'll be bringing along tango shoes for sale- you can get a peak at www.Tango-Wear.com.  So bring a little extra money if you have it- these are beautiful shoes, and at only $100/pair, they're a great deal.

Buenos Aires Blues 2009: Pre-Registration is open!

Currently, registration is only $85 ($80 for full-time students), for the whole weekend!  Take a look around the site, then head over to the Register page, and sign up!

Previous years have included dances and two days of classes, and that's our plan again this year.  We've really gotten attached to the one-track system for this event; we find that this way, students get to know each other and build a safe learning environment, where they feel free to experiment and push themselves.  Also, this pairs dancers who are new to a dance with people who are already experienced.  Haven't you ever wanted to be in a class where everyone else was better than you, so you can feel how something should feel?  Well, at this weekend, odds are good that half the people there will know what they're doing on your weak dance.  By the end of the weekend, we hear less, "oops" and more "cool!", and we think that's a pretty good measure.
